This thesis is universal design research on the information transmission of RailPublic Transport's platform under the background of information age. A suitable systemof platform information transmission is expected to design throughly and systematicallyaccording to the reality of China's Rail Public Transport. This system is considered tomake ordinary people's out faster and more convenient, respect the old and the disabledwithout discrimination,so they can understand the information easily, what's more, embody"gentleman design",which Industrial Design should play in modern society. The research focus on analyzing investigation cases of information transmission inChina's Urban Rail Public Transport and sustainable reasearch. After a great deal ofinvestigations by questionnaire and interview,it come to conclusion that among peoplewho often go out,the proportion of old and the disabled is increasing greatly;the puzzleand barrier that people will face when understanding the information of the platformduring their riding are analyzed and compared to each other.Last, the design research ofthe Rail Public Transport platform information transmission is carried on according tothese investigations, analyses and the theory of universal design.Compared to former design researches which are often confined to small regions, thethesis set to universal design systematically, and focus on the information communicationwhich is often ignored. The research is not deep enough. The ways to solve the problem are too simple tosatisfy all the demands of people, especially for the old and disabled.Turning the theoryinto practice is expected to be solved in the follow-up research.
