Study On The Model Test Of Chemical/Biological Deodorization In Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant

At present, it is inevitable to build up municipal wastewater treatment plant in inhabited area in our country. In order to make the staff in the factory and the nearby inhabitant can be healthy and comfortable, prevent odor from wastwater treatment plant to pollute the environment, we should adopt the measure to remove odor. Therefore, we designed a set of model of deodorization in wastwater treatment plants, and did some research on it.The odor which the model removes comes from the raw sludge tank in Wuhan Sahu Wastwater Treatment Plant. Experimental contents on the model include: (1) Confirm the best type of packing material and performance condition in acidic wash tower; (2) Confirm the best type of packing material and performance condition in alkaline wash tower; (3) Research to the best performance condition of biology filter; (4) The optimal performance of the whole process.The results on model test indicate:(1) During biofilm formation and domestication of packing in the bio-filter, biofilm formation needs about 17 days under the conditions which are the current capacity: 10m3/h, the retention time:30s, the temperature:24~32℃, sprinkling nutrient every day. Domestication to NH3 needs about 22 days, domestication to H2S needs about 37 days.(2) Based on the NH3 and H2S removal effect of each combinatorial process, it appeared that the 2nd tower can't play the role to remove H2S, and the 1st tower may remove the low consistency NH3. Therefore the optimal treatment process consisted of 1st tower and the 3rd tower in this experiment.(3) When making connecting of the 1st tower and the 3rd tower, H2S is removed in the bio-filter, the removeing rate achieves above 90% under the conditions which are the current capacity: 10m3/h, the retention time:30s, the temperature:20~32℃, sprinkling water capacity in the 1st tower: 3L/h. The research discovered that the humidity of carriers and the oxygen content are important to operate parameters which maintain the best performance of the bio-filter.
