Along with sea transportation market's booming, marine perils become the main potential trouble. Under this situation, the Salvage Bureau of China comes into existence. For the fuction of rescuing life and property at sea,the Salvage Bureau of China becomes safeguard. After the principle "enlarge the scope, more salvage station, dynamically await orders, save life at any moment" has been put into practice, the ability of rescuing is further reinforced.This paper analyses the factors which influence the reliability of the salvage tugboat while it is in working condition with the Event Tree Analysis and the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Then optimizes the marine engineering management of salvage tugboat.Firstly, this paper studies the man-machine-enviroment system of Beihai Jiu 159, shows the present status of the system and the difference from other ships.Further more, this paper analyzes all these factors with the Event Tree Analysis in the case of emergency during salvation , and it finds out the main factors by sensitivity analyzing. Among these factors, which will affect repairing well or faster, the human factor is uppermost.More over, this paper passes judgment on the nautical int(?)grated stuff, finds the most important factors which influence the reliability of the tugboat and the weight relation by the Analytic Hierarchy Process, which provides evidence for advanced management of engine room.At last, according to the results obtained above, this paper optimizes the marine management of Beihai Jiu 159 with a practical method.The conclusions drawn from this paper are valuable for the engine room management of the salvage tugboat in this booming period. At the same time, theoretic reference is provided for engineers when choosing advanced management modes.
