The railway crossing has become an important part of railway safety. The objective of this thesis is to provide a practical and effective solution to improve cross safety, which includes a whole system with hardware, software, wireless module, and internet based server computing system. The internet connection mode is GPRS, which is perfectly adaptive for the various condition and environment of railway road. The client system is designed with embedded hardware and operating system, which provide a much lower cost and higher reliability. Through the integration of traditional crossing techniques and advanced embedded technology, this system successfully achieves the proposed functions with advantages of easy implementation, and is suitable for replacing the current railway crossing safety equipments.
