This paper discussed the current development situation of the current transformer, expounded the principle of measuring current by Rogowski coil and its equivalent circuit model. Based on the distributed parameter model of the transmission line, it presented accurate simulation equivalent dynamic model of Rogowski coil, and established its discrete time equivalent circuit model. This simulation model had the most simple circuit structure and math description. The simulation experiment proved the correctness of this model. This paper studied the simulation method of Rogowski coil by the divisive method. The method presented by this paper can resolve the problem such as big calculation and difficulty caused by the increase of RLC cascade circuit number. The simulation method had less calculation , and was easy to programme. It provided an effective analyse and experiment means for the research and manufacture of Rogowski coil current transformer.This paper studied the limitations of RLC simple circuit model when people analyzed the frequency characteristics of Rogowski coil. The simulation analyse of the frequency characteristics was presented, based on the distributed parameter circuit model of Rogowski coil. The result proved that the frequency bandwidth definition formula of self-integral type Rogowski coil based on the RLC simple circuit model, can't completely reflect the factual frequency characteristics. This paper discussed the two methods of widening the frequency bandwidth of Rogowski coil, and proved the advantages and disadvantages of the both methods by simulation.Because the output voltage magnitude of Rogowski coil was so small that the difficulty of output signal collection was increased. Normally, when the input current was several amperes, the output voltage was dozens of microvolt. By changing Rogowski coil structure, this paper designed Rogowski coil current transformer for measuring power network current. The output voltage can be increased .When the input current was several amperes, the output voltage was several millivolt.
