The pneumatic tyre form a vital component of a road vehicle as it interacts with the road in order to produce the forces necessary for support and movement of the vehicle. The forces and moments generated in the tyre are the result of tyre deflections due to the interaction between wheel and road. Tyre vibrations arise through road irregularities, wheel axle motions, and tyre non-uniformities. The complex tyre structure with its compliance and inertia may give rise to isolation from these irregularities in certain frequency ranges but also to magnification at other frequencies. A through understanding of the behavior of the pneumatic tyre is an essential aspect of analyzing the dynamics of vehicles. With mechanicals, computers and other related technology development, it has been able to establish complex and the accuracy of the vehicle dynamics model to simulate the specific issue. However, in the vehicle dynamics model tire model practicality and accuracy is still a need to be further addressed important and key issues. In recent years, with the popularization of automobiles and automobile performance requirements, vehicle comfort, durability and NVH characteristics are receiving more and more attention. Developed high-frequency model is the current research challenges. In tire model study, using modal approach receive the domestic and foreign researchers attentions Ring model such as SWIFT model and FTIRE model and the direct using modal parameters modeling need modal analysis. SWIFT and FTIRE which have been used in vehicle dynamic software ADAMS are the more successful representatives of ring modelUse of modal parameters of tire model has been attracting increasing attention. However, due to commercial reasons we are unable to know the internal solution process. So doing modal analysis is the basis for studying on these models.By computational modal analysis, the dynamic characteristics of the tire is understood. Through experimental modal analysis, the influence of excitingamplitude, support, structure (radial and bias tire), tire pressure and load are studied on. The conversion from free support to fixed support has been solved by modal synthesis method. This work is divided into the following steps: first summarized the foreign and domestic tire dynamic characteristics of the status and lead to this thesis. Then summed up the two modal analysis method: calculated modal analysis and experimental analysis. The finite element model of tire has been built by using HYPERMESH and ABAQUS to analyze the structural dynamics to correct experimental setup, choose modal parameters and study on the relation of calculated modal analysis and experimental modal analysis. Then the experimental modal testing theory and how to establish a suitable tire modal test system has been introduced. Study the dynamic characteristics and causes of the tire. Then, the use of free interface modal synthesis method solved the conversion from free support to fixed support. The relation of calculated modal analysis and experimental modal analysis is studied. Finally the full thesis summarize and outlook.
