With the construction of high speed railway worldwide, research on vehicle-bridge dynamic analysis when vehicles pass the bridge at high speed is becoming a focus of increasing interest. Especially, it is very important of the influence of seismic excitation to the safety and stability of running vehicle on bridge.Firstly, finite element method is used to get the modal characters of continuous bridge based on the 3-D beam element. Secondly, dynamic equation of vehicle is obtained by Lagrange formulation. The equation of vehicle-bridge interaction is also obtained with the modal superposition technique. In this paper, the finite element program is compiled to simulate the procedure of vehicle-bridge interaction base on the theory described above. The dynamic response analysis is executed with the motivation of 3 conditions: (1)considering the wheel hunting and track irregularities, (2)considering lateral acceleration of earthquake, (3)considering the support displacement of bridge caused by earthquake. The parameters such as lateral displacement of girder, deflection of girder, the acceleration of girder, the acceleration of vehicle, derail factor and offload factor can be obtained from the program. The adverse influence of earthquake can be showed from the comparison of these parameters in 3 conditions which can be the reference to engineering design.
