The gravity type rockfill dam is the type of the dam on which upper side is the concrete or the grout stones gravity wall,and the downstream side is rockfill.Or the upper side is the dry stones gravity wall and on it setting the concrete or the grout stones as the damp-influent wall . The main loads such as the water pressure, the sand pressure ,the uplift pressure and so on are carried on by both the gravity wall and the rockfill body .The gravity wall and rockfill support each other to keep the stabilization of the whole structure.In the paper,the author has studied the gravity type rockfill dam, and do some research to find the disciplinarian of the deformation ,the stress of the structure and the rockfill pressure on the back of the gravity wall when the reservoir is empty and storaging water.And then changing the coefficient of friction between the gravity wall and the rockfill body to find out the affection to the deformation, the stress of the structure and the rockfill pressure on the back of the gravity wall.Using this method to validate the correctness of the classical mechanics formula. Basing the conclusion the gravity wall and the structure size of the rockfill dam are further excellent to be designed.
