Because of the jet flow field for the prestage of hydraulic servo valve driven by jet flow, it is difficult to build an accurate mathematical model, thereby the analysis of servo pipe and whole servo control system is difficult to be carried out. Sometimes cavitation and self-excited oscillations may exist in the jet flow field. They may performance and lifetime of the servo valve. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of hydraulic servo valve, it is important to study the mathematical model and distribution of jet flow field.In this paper, field of servo valve prestage is simulated and tested.The 2-D geometric model of the jet flow field is established by utilizing the CAD software AutoCAD, according to the parameter of practical size. The mesh of the model is generated by Gambit which is the preprocessor of the Fluent software. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of jet flow field are performed adopting the k -ε, RSM turbulence model and cavition liquid model respectively. The simulation results of the pressure field, velocity field and cavition filed are shown, visualization of the jet flow field are carried out. A transparent model is used to make the deflection jet board grounded on the inhere enlarged dimensions. The finished experiments are conducted to catch the flow rate directions and the situation of cavitation using a high-speed video cameras.In this paper, the finite element analysis and visualiation research of servo valve prestage jet flow field are carried out, which establish the theoretical foundation for mathematical model of servo valve prestage and the whole mathematical model of hydraulic servo valve.
