Exoatmospheric kinetic interception is an important resort of ballistic missile defense. Thus the research and study on exoatmospheric kinetic vehicle is significant for the technological improvement of national ballistic missile defense.The paper analyzes the initial conditions for exoatmospheric kinetic interception by means of Covariance Analysis Describing Function Technique (CADET), obtains the Line-of-Sight (LOS) rate for Proportional Navigation (PN) by LOS angle sequences and gives the verification in Six Degree-Of- Freedom (6DOF) simulation, evaluates the end-game performance of EKV by the data from 6DOF simulation.First, proper initial conditions between EKV and target are the premise of hit-to-kill. Capture region is described by equations of relative motion defined in Modified Polar Coordinate while phasetrajectory graph is introduced. And the disturbance of initial condition biase is analyzed by CADET through statistical linearization of EKV dynamical model. Next, to gain accurate LOS rate is the key for hit-to-kill since True Proportional Navigation (TPN) is convergent if the initial state between EKV and target is inside the capture region. By LOS angle sequences, the LOS rate for TPN, whether of maneuvering target or not, is obtained by the spline filter and strong state tracking adaptive estimator, which is verified in 6DOF simulation. In the end, the research towards interception performance needs to be carried on as antimissile kinetic interception could adopt the combat mode based on interception result. By 6DOF simulation data, the mean and covariance of miss distance is obtained to denote the end-game navigation precision, while spline filter and Kalman filter based on positions, velocities, LOS angles and LOS rates are introduced.
