Modular Design Theory Applications In Ship

China's shipbuilding industry ranks the third in the world from 1996, but the general shipbuilding efficiency is lower than Japan and Korea , so we have to raise shipbuilding efficiency and to shorten shipbuilding periods. The shipbuilding technology has greatly changed. Shipbuilding pattern leading by information technology is developing. With the use of CIMS,parallel engineering,agile manufacture in ship industry, shipbuilding factory needs CAPP urgently. The paper studied hull-assemble CAPP technology,included parts as follows:1 .The system structure of collaborative CAPP is established based on an investigation and analysis of the development procedure of shipbuilding mode and development trend of CAPP.2.TRIBON as a data source has representativeness and versatility. The paper has solved the data extraction from TRIBON by studying the TRIBON's data-extraction method. The paper also wrote a common C++ function with the help of COM of TRIBON ,and packed the data-extraction details as a basis of data source for posterior program.3.Among these process planning activities, the assembly process planning is by far the most important, since the construction process for a hull block comprises approximately 48-50% of the total shipbuilding process. For the other method, the block assembly process is most difficult in the total shipbuilding activities. So, this paper mainly discusses a methodology of the determination of assembly units and assembly sequences for block assembly.
