As a new special bridge type, self-anchored suspension bridge has won more and more engineering's favors with its beauteous build, economy performance and striving adaptability of geology and topography feathers. It has become a very competitive blue print of the urban bridge with the span from 100m to 400m. Relying on the project of Sanchaji self-anchored suspension bridge, this thesis analyzes the calculating theory of the cable system and does some significant experimental research on the anchorage system of the self-anchored suspension bridge. The main work in this thesis is described as follows:(1) This thesis introduces phylogeny and application actuality inland and abroad, summarizes the basic construction and forcing characteristic, and indicates the existed problems and developing trend of self-anchored suspension bridge.(2) This thesis researches systemically on the calculating theory of line shape for suspension bridge, deduced the applied calculating formulas of the combined geometry curve theory, and programs based on each geometry curve theory. Through the calculating example results and the comparisons with other calculating theories, it is proved that the calculating formulas of the combined geometry curve theory is valid, practical and accurate. It can be used in the calculation of line shape at the preliminary design, and can meet the engineering need.(3) This thesis researches systemically on the calculating theory of the suspension bridge's cable system, including calculating design line shape and internal force, erection line shape of cable and pre-displacement of saddle without loads, the fixed position for erecting cable and amendatory method of cable's unstressed length. Using the finite element method considering the influence of the stiffened girder, the cable system of Sanchaji self-anchored suspension bridge with the main span of 328m is calculated and analyzed based on the programme which programmed by APDL language.
