The Design Of Miniature Low-power Atmospheric Pressure Altimeter

Increasingly, the rapid progress of aeronautics and astronautics technology has make aeronautical instruments becoming more and more intelligent, meanwhile, research on remotely piloted vehicle and usage of new energies in aeronautics make it a trend that aeronautical instruments become low-power wasted. Atmospheric pressure altimeter is an important kind of aeronautical instruments, the main function of which is to offer carrier exact altitudinal information. Economization on energy, lightweight and environmental protection are its new trend.Based on these reasons mentioned above, I completed the development of the miniature low-power atmospheric pressure altimeter system in the light of the basic principle of low power design for microcontroller system, and my development on it includes both hardware design, software programming, and low-power design. At last this paper gives the analyse of power and the output data .This low-power atmospheris pressure altimeter is mainly made up of the sensor, the lead plane and management of power supply. The C8051F005 micro-processor made by Cygnal company is the core of the lead plane, which connects with half-duplax differential transceiver MAX3471 ,sigma-delta AD7705. The pressure, altitude and temperature can all be collected and calculate out accurately. In addition to these features, The system has the low-value alert and other auxiliary functions etc. Its main characteristic is its low power and low supply voltage, therefore it caters for the basic requirement on low power supply. this system is also small in size and lightweight, which also makes it portable. .it can be used as a part of aerometric measurement system in aerocrafts, sending dates to central computer by COM port .Furthermore, with LCD added on, it can be applied as a ground altimete...
