At present, with the rapid development of high-level highway in ourcountry, construction of freeway in loess district has gained greatachievements, but there exist many problems that have to be resolved.Collapsibility of Loess is the main disease of freeway in loess district. So wemust appropriately process by the degree of loess collapsibility, and assureof the quality of project, as well as considering practicality. Therefore, it isvery important that we extremely evaluate the collapsibility of loess in thearea along the road. In northern of our country (Liaoning Province Chaoyangdistrict), there exists the collapsibility problem of loess when buildingfreeways. If the problem is not known well, it is possible that collapsibilityaccidents will appear after built or in building and hazard safety and normaluse, and sometimes, personal injury and greater losses are caused. By thedetailed engineering geological exploration materials, the paper researcheson collapsibility of loess in the Fuchao section of the Tieling-chaoyangfreeway, and Comprehensively analyze the engineering geological andhydrogeological conditions of the region, and then discusses the relationsbetween the collapsibility coefficient and natural water content, between thecollapsibility coefficient and dry density, and among the collapsibilitycoefficient, natural water content and dry density. And also, the papercomprehensively analyzes the collapsibility of different depth with t methodand Q-model cluster analysis. Lastly, by relevance analysis, the experienceformula fitting for the region and the advices of the degree of the loesscollapsibility is raised. The text consists of six chapters.The first chapter introduces the overview of loess, the physical andwater nature, its aim, significance and the study trends of our country, andso on.The second chapter introduces the profiles of engineering, including thelandscape and physiognomy conditions, engineering geological andhydrogeological conditions.The third chapter discusses the test methods of the collapsibilitycoefficient of loess. Through comparing the advantages of single-line withdouble-line method, and analyzing the sampling data in the region, thepaper chooses double-line method to calculate the collapsibility of loess inthe region.The fourth chapter compares and analyzes the physical index bymeans of multiple relevance analysis, and then chooses natural watercontent and dry density to analyze the collapsibility of loess. Throughanalyzing different water content and dry density with different depth, bymeans of t method and Q-model cluster analysis, it is testified that thecollapsibility of different degree can be comprehensively analyzed, and thecorresponding experience formula is established. By comparing thetheoretical calculations with practical data, it is concluded that theexperience formula of the paper has great reliability and reference value.The fifth chapter introduces the strong degree and the level standard ofthe loess collapsibility, and then raises the classification standard of thepaper.The sixth chapter is the conclusion of the paper. The above research oncollapsibility of loess put forward the collapsibility disciplinarian of loess andthe standard of the strong degree of loess collapsibility in the region.
