With the persistently increase of the economy and the quick development of the road traffic in our country, the problem of traffic safety becomes more and more serious. Among the factors which influence traffic safety, the brake capability of the automobile is an important one. In the brake processing, there will engender much heat energy. The heat energy can make the temperature of the brake pad growing up, which will affect the friction behavior of the brake pad. So we need to know about the temperature status of the brake pad during the brake processing.This research is about temperature simulation measure research of automotive brake pad. This paper simply introduces the brake staff and the brake pad in the first, then analyzes the heat energy engendering mechanism during the brake process on the heat transfer theory, and analyzes the thermal field using the finite element method. At last, on the basis of the constitution and work principle of brake staff, using friction tester as a testing platform, temperature measure device for the brake pad is developed, and the test data are analyzed.In this dissertation, the important parts are the hardware design and the software design of the temperature measure system for the brake pad. In this dissertation, every hardware unit in this temperature measure system and the main components used are introduced in detail. This design use AT89C51 as the control unit in the system. Design requirement and cost problem are thought when choosing the components. The stability of the system and the accuracy of the data are assured in the system test processing.In this dissertation, test result is analyzed, which gives some help for the further research of the temperature problem on the brake pad. In the last part of the dissertation, points that need to be improved and that need to be researched and discussed further are brought forward, which offer the reference for the following development work.
