With the development of the water resources and hydropower construction projects, the amount and scale of underground structure group are enlarged more and more. The underground structure group have the development trend to large scale and ultra-large scale at the present time. The construction of underground structure group is a numerous factors affecting and complicated system engineering, which is influenced and constrained by many factors, such as the nature conditions, the level of construction technology, the allocation of construction machinery, the conditions of channels, the space structure of tunnels, the bracing type, the construction safety and the construction quality. These factors make the construction of underground structure group heavy task and flexible work. It's difficult to make a logical construction organization by traditional method. However, the computer simulation technology initiates a new method for the research of construction process in the water resources and hydropower projects.System analysis to the construction of the underground structure group is produced in this paper. Taking the underground structure group construction of Shuibuya project as the simulation object, combining with the construction scheduling technique, cycle operation network, system simulation and 3D visualization technology, and using two types of modeling technique of Gongxu model and Huodong model, we simulate the underground structure group construction process of Shuibuya project and have developed the system simulation software for the construction of underground structure group. The research results of this paper are listed as follows:(1) The construction system of the underground structure group are taken as main research object. Pointing to the complexity of the research object, two types of modeling technique of Gongxu model and Huodong model are provided. Gongxu model works as a frame in the construction system of the underground structure group, and then the Gongxu model nodes in this frame are refined to Huodong model.(2) According to the system models talked above, the system simulation software for the construction of underground structure group is developed using the object-oriented technology.(3) By the use of database technique, powerful data statistic and analysis model of thesimulation results is built. Therefore, we can gain the technical economic index of construction system nicely and quickly, the characteristics of the underground structure group construction system can be understood completely.(4) Being directed by GIS theory, basing on space data, and using OpenGL and VC as developing tool, we develop dynamic 3D visual simulation system of underground structure group construction based on GIS, which provides a powerful analysis tool to describe underground structure group construction directly, clearly and adequately.(5) Combining the research with Shuibuya project, by the system simulation software for the construction of underground structure group, multiple schemes are comparised and optimized and the simulation results are obtained, which are close to the actual results, and are very practical and propagable.
