In-depth development and improvement in research and technology application of energy-saving for buildings have been gained at home and abroad.But in hot summer and warm winter zone of our country, research of energy-saving for buildings begins comparatively later. Lag in the research baffles the progress in energy-saving for buildings in this region. Tt is unsuitable to the high speed development in economy and society in this region also.Dongguan city is the representative one of the hot summer and warm winter zone. Research in energy-saving for residential building envelopes and indoor thermal environment is carried in this paper. Main research methods in this paper are testing in spots and theoretical analyse.Based on the research on the situation of energy-saving for buildings at home and abroad, experimental test of thermal characteristics of building envelopes on several representative residential buildings in summer is carried systematically for the first time. Thermal parameters of building envelopes and outdoor thermal environment in this region are calculated and analyzed. The representative rooms are estimated based on design standards and criteria for energy efficiency of residential buildings in hot summer and warm winter zone, and consumption and proportion of energy in residential building are analyzed detailedly in this paper.Based on the testing data and theory of thermal comfort, Values of PMV-PPD hourly in day in summer in the region are calculated and analyzed. The relationship between thermal sensation and indoor environmental factors is illuminated. Then based on the testing data, the fit equation which is suitable for applying to engineering is concluded in this paper. The scope and index of indoor air temperature and relative humidity are brought, in which people feels comfortable.
