Evaluating rock quality by using quantitative and half-quantitative is widely used in water resource projects, road, railway, tunnel, bridges, etc. The common method depends on a lot of testing data of rock including indoor and outdoor, or statistical local data. However, due to the limited time and money, the chief department usually neglects the importance of geologic reconnaissance in the design process, especially in the mini project. As a result, the data for evaluating the rock quality is not enough. Therefore, we should apply a simple and economical way to evaluate the rock quality.This paper presents Line Rock Quality (LRQ) Evaluate Method. With the field-test data in Houlong Rivulet, Pingnan, Fujian Province, geologic project statistic and module, seismic-wave test principle and rock quality evaluation, we can educe the equation regression between the vertical-pace (VP) and LRQ by statistical analyses, regressive analyses and module test, then referring the rock quality index M, we bring forward the rock quality standard.This paper explains the application limit by LRQ Evaluate Method in the last part, and point out further research field.LRQ Evaluate Method is very useful and creative in field of project reconnaissance.
