Abstract: Since entering into 21st century, great changes have happened in people's ways of production, consumption and communication. Therefore, healthy Houses comes out due to the economic development, increasing improvement on living standard and people's increasing demand on their Houses quality. Healthy Houses which considers people as center and pursues harmonious relationship between people and nature, makes living space more comfortable and keeps lasting healthy standard by making full use of limited resources, meeting needs of saving energy, water and land, and reducing environment pollution.This Dissertation explains the concept of healthy Houses and points out its emerging reasons, social background, developing condition in and abroad and main contents, in addition, it lists healthy Houses assessment standard both domestic and abroad. Locating in northwest inland area in China, Baotou is behind southeast coastland cities in fields of economy, culture and technology though it has achieved great development in city construction in latest fifty years, so construction on healthy Houses is lagging as well. With certain working experience on architecture Houses design and certain knowledge on residential districts in Baotou, the writer considers it is necessary and urgent to widely use "healthy Houses" in Baotou, In this article, it expounds current healthy Houses development condition in Baotou in detail in items of residential district planning design, individual architect design, indoor space design by means of market research, combining theory with practice and taking factors as nature, geography, culture, history, weather, technology and so forth in Baotou into consideration. It also summarizes according to the fact some typically local advantage and points out some problems existing in Baotou's healthy Houses development.
