Nowadays seals are widely used in such fields like spaceflight, aviation, navigation, mine, machine, and so on. Many accidents occurred are due to the failure of seals, which cause people to pay more attention to them.The seal issue means that people make use of a certain physical rule, some technology and devices to get some local environment, which is needed by industry manufacture. It is not only concerned with the study of physical theory about temperature, pressure and liquid movement law, but also concerned with structure design technology of seal ring assembly, which creates a problem on mutual conjunction between theory and technology.The seal settings used in industry devices mainly use pressure difference between the seal cavity and the environment to work. The seal mechanism is concerned with stuff, surface science, hydrodynamics, lubricate theory, thermodynamics and tribology. This paper chooses to study seal structure of bearing in terms of stuff mechanics, lubricate theory and thermodynamics.Seals are absolutely necessary to bearings. On the one hand, seals can prevent outside particles from entering into bearing interior, which could avoid harmful wear and tear from particles. On the other hand, the seal settings could prevent lubricant from running out to cause pollution.The main points of the paper are as follows:1. The analysis model on the distortion of seal ring under some load is deduced.2. According to the theory of large distortion and the program of ANSYS,some seal structures made of rubber and steal are analyzed. Warps are found when the seal pieces are fixed in outer rings of bearing. The most equivalent stress arises on the top of the steal frameworks. While for the contact type of seals, the most equivalent stress at their lips comes to a max value along with the rise of the contact compress value.3. The FEM model on heat distortion of bearing ferrules is obtained using the theory of heat distortion. The distortion of ferrule' s remains after heat treatment is also calculated, which proves that ferrules would swell after heat treatment. The factors of swelling must be taken into account in the phrase of ferrule designing.4. A model for the flow of bearing seal position is obtained according to the theory of infinitely short bearing and ladder bearing.5. The distribution and leakage model of lubricant grease in bearing is also set up.
