Restriking overvoltage and multi-restriking overvoltage often appear when vacuum switches work to switch off shunt capacitors and HV motors, and will threaten the loads' insulation severely. We try to study the restriking overvoltage and multi-restriking overvoltage possibly caused when vacuum switches work to switch off shunt capacitors and HV motors and the switching overvoltage of empty running transformer.
