The large eddy simulation is applied to calculate the unsteady periodic turbulent in a draft tube. The main characters of the eddy and pressure fluctuation are found. And through the measurement of dynamic vibration, the change laws of dynamic vibration for draft tube is given in this paper. The results manifesting the low dynamic vibration is one of the main reason of vibration in factory at Yantan power station.And to solve the problem of irregular boundaries and free surface in CFD, a simple but powerful method is described that is based on the concept of fraction volume of fluid (VOF).The wind experiment simulation of pressure measurement is also introduced to discuss the interference effects on building. The results of computation are in good agreement with the experimental date and satisfactorily describle the flow field.All above displays the powerful capability of CFD code for the engineering field.
