Study On The Overflow-dam With Long Sand Bags And Its Application

This paper mainly discusses the design and construction technique and the application of the overflow-dam filled with long sand bags in Mazhuang . The main contents of the paper are listed below:(1) Design method is advanced for the overflow-dam filled with long sand bags, which including the size of cross-section and plane-section . The stability is also checked.(2) Construction technique is studied for the overflow dam filled with long sand bags, which including the cloth machining technique of the sand bags, the arranging method preventing the bags not to be scoured in flowing water, and the filling and arranging technique of the long sand bags . The success and failure of the construction is analyzed, and some valuable experience is accumulated for the construction in flowing water.(3) The construction instance in Mazhuang is discussed, and the water-diverting and anti-scour ability of the dam is also studied.(4) Some suggestions are brought forward for the design and construction of projects, based on the studies above.
