Oxide coatings on polymeric substfates has been used as a newvariety of packaging material, which have the high barrier propenyThe properties and produce tedrilogy of the material are the subect inthe studyThe physical vaPor deposition and the plasma enhanced chemicalvaPor dePosition are the main methods to produce the oxide coatings onthe polymeric substrates. During the processing, pretfeatmellt of thesubstfates, inducing the grouPs containing oxygen, adopting plasmeenhancement, and controlling the power of evaPoration are the mAnways to optimize the matCrial Properties such as adhesion between theoxide fllm and the substrates, barrier properties and so on.According to the study, there is a close relationship between theadhsion and the chemical bonds of the inteface, Whch are foed.only When to adoPt the plasma enhancement. Bariier property isaffected not only by the surface topograPhy of thc substrates, bat aboby the thickness of the film, the power of evaPorating, and the chemicalcomPonellt and sttucture of the film. Furthermore, evaPorating thedifferent oxides Which are ndxed up and coating diffeent oxidesorderly are other imPortat methods to optimize the material properties.
