With the rapid development of China’s population aging, the influence and special demand of the elders daily travel on urban transportation system became evident with the increase of the number of elderly people. Till now, the elderly traffic behavior research mainly focus on the aspect of driving safety and travel-based analysis of the space and time characteristics. However, urban pension life daily travel purpose are mainly three types of activities, they are leisure, shopping and go to hospital. The travel-based analysis of the space and time characteristics distinguish traffic behavior under different activities characteristics hardly, can not sure the travel demand of the elderly. The research of urban elderly travel behavior under different activities characteristics is very necessary.According to the related research results, leisure is one of the most important daily activities in urban pension life. There is a very significant effect on subjective well-being of the elderly. Further study of the elderly leisure activities travel behavior can provide the scientific basis for related decisions and service function of urban traffic system under the aging society.This article according to 633 valid questionnaire and 74 qualitative interview data which are Kunming urban elderly over 60 will no longer work. According to push and pull theory, leisure motivation is analyzed.6 leisure needs and 7 leisure environmental cognitions of urban elderly are defined. Draw lessons from international general ability of daily activity analysis method, according to the principle of life cycle theory,6 foundation indicators of the elderly travel ability evaluation are built. The elderly leisure motivation-travel ability as the main line, using the research methods such as correlation analysis, structural equation model and the disaggregate model, urban elderly leisure activity-travel behavior mechanism is studied through modeling and calculating. The content includes urban elderly leisure activity travel behavior characteristic analysis as a whole, the influence path, effect of value and the change rule at different ages among urban elderly leisure activity travel behavior characteristic parameters. Urban elderly leisure activity travel choice models are built. The influence degree of sensitive characteristic variables on urban elderly travel choice behavior is analyzed quantitatively.In this paper, the main research contents and the main achievements are as follows:Leisure time and space regular and travel behavior characteristics have some cross statistical analysis based on analysis of the elderly leisure activities characteristics. The results showed that the elderly leisure travel main space pointing is away from the city centre and is given priority to with bus way, travel distance and activity duration are longer. But after reaching a certain age, these will be shorter.Take leisure motivation and travel capacity constraints as the basic relations, the inherent laws of the elderly leisure travel behavior are explored by using structural equation model method. The elderly age groups based on the mobility are divided through correlation analysis. The elderly in different age groups leisure travel behavior parameters correlation model is built. The inherent laws of the elderly behavioral differences in different age groups are analyzed. The results showed that the elderly leisure travel behavior is the interaction result of leisure motivation and a mobility. The interaction is indirect, leisure needs and leisure environment cognition of motivation factors affects the elderly choice of leisure destination directly. Leisure environment and travel ability affect travel behavior together. However, this regular change according to the different ages. Performance for some aspect. The elderly at the age of 60 to 71 leisure travel behavior is affected by the characteristics of destination and environment cognition. The elderly who live with their children travel distance is shorter, the departure time later, the correlation of age and ability is not significant. The elderly at the age of 72 to 77 leisure travel behavior is affected by travel ability and leisure environment together. The influence of travel ability on travel behavior and the influence of cognitive accessibility on choice of leisure destination begin to emerge. Travel ability along with the age growth is weakening trend. The elderly at aged 78 and above leisure activity is mainly affected by travel ability restriction, the main factors of choice of leisure destination are the cognizance of leisure facilities and accessibility factors.On the basis of obtaining the sensitive characteristic parameters of the elderly leisure travel behavior, according to the Disaggregate Model (DM) thought, the elderly leisure travel mode choice model and departure time choice model are constructed. The prediction of the sensitive characteristic variables to leisure travel choice behavior is analyzed quantitatively by calculating the odds. Research shows that the size and environment of leisure destination, age, travel ability and living state of the elderly have significant effect on the elderly travel mode choice behavior. Age, living state, travel mode and travel distance of the elderly and the size and environment of leisure destination have significant effect on the departure time choice behavior of the elderly.This study follow the objective laws which the elderly physiological, psychological condition periodically change quickly, take travel ability conditionality into leisure activity travel behavior analysis. It makes research results reflect the particularity of the elderly, increases the available of research results. Some questions such as the elderly leisure activity travel from leisure motivation, leisure motivation has effect on travel behavior and the dynamic interaction influence mechanism of travel decision when the constraint conditions change can be explained well through this study.
