In recent years, with the proliferation of municipal road construction, gently excavated slope of Chenzhou because of sensitivity to the special structure and water sensitivity of the red clay there a large number of landslides. According to the survey, gently excavated slope in the area of Chenzhou stability calculations are often found in slope is stable (the actual site is the case). However, due to long-term exposure, and rainfall infiltration on slope and other factors, the shear strength of red clay layer significantly reduced, resulting in the corresponding declining slope stability, culminating in a large number of gently excavated slope Landslide. In order to solve the contradictions encountered in this project, we need to making improvements to the slope stability calculation methods, so that these methods can be used for gently excavated slope stability calculations.This paper analyzed and summarized the domestic and foreign-related properties of red clay research; collected and analyzed topography, lithology and other important information on meteorological and hydrological conditions of the study area; conclude and summarize the main damage type slope structure and sliding mode of gently excavated slope in Chenzhou, and in the same time the more common type of rock structure excavation Class A gentler slope as the focus of this paper. Through laboratory experiments it studied the typical red clay Chenzhou the basic physical and mechanical nature and intensity of water sensitivity, established between the strength index and moisture content of the function model; considering the rainfall infiltration on the slope in the red clay strength parameters of the premise, according the main characteristics and the main cause of slope landslide factors in Chenzhou, it widely used to improve the simplified Bishop method.
