Nowadays, more attention is paying to wind power generation due to the wind energy is a kind of "green" and cheap renewable energy resource. One of the tendencies in modern wind power technology is brushless; another is without gearbox between turbine and generators. And the most typical is direct-driven wind-power permanent magnet synchronous generators.Direct-driven exterior-rotor wind-power permanent magnet synchronous generators (DEWPMSG) is removed the wind power systems of common gear box, let this wind-driven directly drive motor exterior rotor operation state of exterior rotor in low-speed permanent magnet synchronous generators. It is different from electricity excitation of the salient pole synchronous generators, but using high energy deposition of permanent magnetic materials as poles, it saves the field winding produce loss, make motor structure simple, and increase efficiency. Compared with other structure wind generators, the biggest characteristics of DEWPMSG are more poles, slow speed and small start torque. Then the wind turbine can maximize capture the wind, and has wider speed operation scope to adapt for wind speed caused by the fluctuation of wind turbines speed change. Therefore, DEWPMSG got more extensive application in the wind power generation system.Firstly, this paper introduces stator and rotor structures of DEWPMSG, operating performance of DEWPMSG Based on the research on theory of motor design and operating performance of DEWPMSG, it exploits a series of electromagnetic computing programs for the design of DEWPMSGSecondly, this paper studies design method of DEWPMSG and analyze the development tendency of CAD software of electrical machine. This DEWPMSG CAD system is programmed through C++Builder6.0 which is visual and object-oriented programming. This CAD system which bases on engineering database and runs on the platform of Windows is modularized and opening. This CAD system gathers functions of motor design, characteristic curve, and report print and so on. With a friendly interface, This CAD system can effectively complete the design of DEWPMSG The frame of the CAD system is introduced, and some important techniques such as database, graphics are studied deeply. Some effective solutions are proposed to resolve difficulties meeting in the designing of the CAD system, and some programming methods are provided.At last, an example of DEWPMSG is designed with the CAD system, and the experiment result demonstrates the veracity of the DEWPMSG CAD system which has friendly interface, convenient operation, powerful function, accurate calculation.
