Urban sewer system is an important part of urban Infrastructural facilities, as well as key engineering for preventing water pollution and discharging waste water. It plays a significant role in eliminating and reducing urban water disasters. The purpose of urban sewer system model is to simulate or forecast the flow conditions of the drainage system, in order to manage and control the drainage system.Owing to the fact that the conventional modeling methods of the network convergence are quite time consuming, cumbersome and large errors.This paper presents a new method of modeling, to obtain the transfer function model through Saint-Venant equations. In the condition of the sewage flow, the water level curve is obtained. In order to control the water level,to regulate sewage flow through the valve, pump stations and other control facilities. In addition, the drainage pumping stations consume great energy, so energy-saving technology of pumping stations has very important practical significance. The goal of energy-saving and guaranteeing the pumping stations to be long time at the benignity operating condition is realized by regluating the rotational speed of pumps and flow.Firstly, a transfer function of the hydraulic model of sewer by linearizing Saint- Venant equations is established. Also summarize the modeling steps by studying the modeling principle of the MIKE URBAN software, calculation engine and the function of modules. Last, for a sewage pipe model, which hydraulic characteristics is analyzed.Further,it proves that the tree model suit for drainage network system by analyzing the characteristics of drainage network system and combining knowledge of graph theory and the similarity of the road network.On this basis, establish there pipes model which is the most simple model of drainage network, and analyze the characteristics of the nodes and valves.Last, analyze the pump operation status to achieve further energy saving. Analyse three kinds sub-condition of pump operating point ,grasps how to regulate water flow so that pumping station run in high-performance area. Analyze the general principles of the pump energy-saving through regulating the rotational speed of pumps. And analyze three methods for determining the rotational speed.Last,determine the most superior rotational speed of pumps with an example.
