With the aggravation of global warming and the energy crisis, the government and the global automobile companies make an accelerating promotion on new energy vehicles. Hybrid Electric Vehicles enjoy a high level, of acknowledgement for the advantage of the power performance and the fuel economy by the whole society. Meanwhile, many types of HEVs designed by automobile companies all over the world are downlined in recent years.Based on the hybrid electric bus project from SHAANXI AUTOMOBILE GROUP CO.LTD, the hybrid electric vehicle was designed and researched.Due to the various forms of the hybrid electric vehicle, it is the pivotal key to design a transmission system on the basis of technical reference given by SHAANXI AUTOMOBILE GROUP CO.LTD, which is simple-structured, compact layout, efficient, reasonable-matched. Above all, this thesis make an analysis the variety of the hybrid electric vehicles of different power systems, comparison the advantages and disadvantages in all kinds of HEVs in these power systems and several common control strategies used in HEVs, introduction of the present development of HEVs at home and abroad, concentration on reflection of the calculation, selection, modeling and simulation of the powertain system of the HEVs.According to relevant technical conditions provided by SHAANXI AUTOMOBILE GROUP CO.LTD of the vehivle, a parallel powertain system is identified, the reasonable calculation, selection, modeling and components matching is completed including the engine, motor, battery and transmission. Besides, several common control strategies used in HEVs are introduced, including Parallel Electric Assist Control Strategy, Adaptive Control Strategy Fuzzy and Logic Control Strategy. Also, a typical commercial driving X is studied and designed to match the real driving cycle of the hybrid electric vehicles. A hybrid electric vehicle simulation software ADVISOR2002 is used to model and simulate the components in this HEVs. In use of the interface GUI, the simulation of the average speed, the max speed, the max grade and fuel consumption/100km is tested and analyzed.In the end, according to the analysis of the simulation results, SX1166DL461-HEV is much better and more efficient in the power performance and the fuel economy to the desired achievement than the traditional vehicle.
