Dual conical surfaces-generated double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair is a new type of transmission, it has a great character, such as more teeth for the transmission, higher contact quality, better lubrication condition and so on, as a result, the worm gear pair has a advantage of higher efficiency of transmission, stronger bearing capacity and longer life of work. The research of dual conical surfaces-generated double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair has a positive effect for the upgrade of technology and energy saving in the domain of economy and society. The paper focus on the optimization design of parameter and manufacture for the dual conical surfaces-generated double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair, the main contents are as follow:Build up a model of tooth face for the dual conical surfaces-generated double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair based on the theory of geometry and gear meshing, take advantage of MATLAB to calculate and analyze the oil film thickness, width of tooth and interference line for the worm.Build up a multipurpose optimal model for the dual conical surfaces-generated double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair, the optimization algorithm is Adaptive Random Search Method, the targets are thicker oil film thickness and better distribution of contact lines, prevent the worm from becoming narrow tooth width and undercut, and choose 3 design parameters, the factor for the diameter of worm's pitch circle and main base circle, the dip angle of formed surface, as the optimization parameter, take a actual experiment to testify the function of optimization model.Based on the theory of dual conical surfaces-generated double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair and manufacture technology of modern equipment, design the special equipment for the manufacture of worm gear pair. Take advantage of the special equipment, design the processing techniques and flow, and make a sample of the worm gear pair.Build up a experiment platform for the worm gear pair, take a contrast test of the dual conical surfaces-generated double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair before and after the optimization design in the aspects of transmission efficiency, noise, temperature of oil pool and so on, the purpose of the experiment is to testify the function and effect of the optimization design.
