The cavity pump, which is developed in recently years, is a new type of extraction equipment. Its system is high efficient and the wellhead it used is small.Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is usually used in driving cavity pump. PMSM has many advantages, such as simple structure, small volume and high efficiency. In the dissertation, the research is focused on the PMSM used in driving cavity pump in oil field.Firstly, the design features and structures of PMSM are introduced in this dissertation And the preliminary designing can be carried out by using the theory of EMCM (equivalent magnetic circuit method) based on the technical requirement. So the basic structure, core, dimension of PMSM and winding parameters etc. can be determined. And a CAD system of PMSM is developed. The software gathers the function of analysis design, optimization design and some aided function forming into the whole motor CAD software.Secondly, the distribution of magnetic field in PMSM is analyzed based on the principles of Finite Element Method(FEM) in detail, and the main coefficients and parameters are calculated, which are difficult to be calculated accurately in magnetic circuit method. Then the main coefficients and parameters are imported into the CAD software.by this way, PMSM is reanalyzed. So the field-circuit combined method is used. Finally, the calculated data are compared with the experimental measurements, so as to verify the rationality and reliability of the method. The analytical method and model in this paper have considerable utility value, they could be forceful theoretical basis for the next research.
