Security Assessment Of Water Resources Wafangdian

Water Resources is the most precious natural resources of human survival and development, a strategic economic resources at the same time. Rapid development of cities caused a series of water issues, especially in the north coastal cities and some places with serious water pollution. Water security has become the largest urban development constraints, particularly for countries with low level of water security, which is the key issues to achieve sustainable development, economic growth and alleviate poverty. Therefore, this paper summarizes the related concepts and methods of water resources security appraisement, proposes a reasonable Solutions by theory combined with practice. The main contents and results in this paper are as follows:(1)First, this paper explain the meaning of water security and the main and current water security problems in our country, fully catches on the current water safety under the overall social environment, by understanding the domestic and foreign scholars'progresses in water resources security. Then analyze the resources overview in the study area, indicating the specific significance of water security; Finally, introduce the main content and approaches adopted in this paper.(2)This paper introduces the concept and basic theory of water safety, selects a scientific and reasonable evaluation, analyzes water-related factors on 19 regions of Wafangdian between 1958-2005 years,and constructions Wafangdian water safety evaluation index system, combined with specific examples.(3)The analyzed and identified features which are representative and easy to calculate is water security's metrics. Indicators of water resources in the region are compared by projection pursuit method (PP) and analytical hierarchy approach (AHP) And then evaluate safety status of water resources from Water quantity and water quality of Wafangdian.The results show that water resources'development and utilization of Wafangdian is under a higher level overall, some areas have exceed the internationally accepted warning line of water resources development and utilization, respectively reach to 66% and 63.7%.The rate of surface water resources development is relatively low in Fudu river, Weitao river, Weitao～Langu river, exchange Island and Huitou river in Wafangdian. Over exploitation of groundwater has a negative effect.(4)Based on the above evaluation, considered from the reasonable development and protection, and efforts to increase social awareness, to maintain the sustainable development of the economic, natural and various aspects of the environment must make a reasonable allocation of water resources, protect water resources in many areas, save water, improve sewage treatment facilities, strengthen the regulatory regime, develop a series of regulatory measures and carry on extensive publicity and education work. Thus improve local water resources and establish appropriate management mechanism to plan and restrict the trends of water safety.Then propose solutions to solve local water security.
