Heavy oil is an important part of the world's oil resources. Because of the special character, some new technologies, such as steam-inject thermal recovery and combustion drive, are gradually applied to developing heavy oil reservoir. Amony such technologies, steam-inject thermal recovery is most widely used. This technology include steam huff-puff and steam flooding. The operation is simple in process of steam huff-puff, but the effective coverage is concentrated in the vicinity of a single well. However, steam flooding can be used as the replacing technology after the steam huff-puff, and enhance the effect of heavy oil reservoir development.Firstly, the paper introduce the technology mechanism of steamflood and the standards. And then, the process of transition from steam huff-puff to steam flooding is emphasized, including the time of transform, the choice of pattern well spacing and the velocity of steaming. Some methods that predict the recovery ratio and steam/oil ratio in steamflooding are also mentioned..These theories are used to design the process of transformation in Chenzhuang heavy oil reservoir. Firstly, the paper analyzes the current status of exploitation of Chen Zhuang heavy oil reservoir, and points out the problems of its current approach in the development. In order to enhance the development effects of Chen Zhuang heavy oil reservoir, the paper analyze and compare reservoir geologic parameter and oil remaining, illustrate the possibility of steam flooding. So steamflood is to be the used in the next development in Chen Zhuang heavy oil reservoir. From the steam injection parameters, pattern of well, the time of changing to steamflooding, the choice of the pilot group and so on, to design steam-flood programs; At the same time, the key steam flooding supporting technologies, such as steam injection string and dynamic monitoring, is also projected. In the final, the study have shown that the change to steam flooding in Chen Zhuang heavy oil reservoir will greatly increase the recovery and the proifit, improve the effect of reservoir development.
