Silk products such as silk clothes not only could make people feel noble, magnificent, elegant in psychology, but also good for human health. As a high-quality textile raw material, natural color silk has it's unique advantages and economic values. At the same time, it meets the needs of modern people's pursuit of environmental-friendly products. Developing natural color silk can make a huge contribution to environmental protection..It also plays an important role in the development of the silk industry,and can increase farners'incomes.However, it is not easy to get natural color silk with color uniformity and stability through current silk process because the sericin,which contains the pigment is soluble,and is very to wash away.. Furthermore, sericin is a valuable natural protein which has very good biological activity and is very healthy for human skin. In order to exploit natural color silk and sericin,new sericin fixation technique is neesed.. With the help of this technology, the original color of silk can be fixed, the advantages of color silk and sericin can be both remained. That can provide an effective way for exploring the silk process of color silk.In this paper, we studied the sericin of natural color silk,sericin fixation and chemical modification. We also analyzed the structure of the processed color silk and part of its other properties. We detected the stability of sericin after fixation, and analyzed the fastness of sericin. The main conclusions are as follows.(1) By using scanning electron microscope, we found that the vertical surface of natural color silk became slightly rough after fixation, but there is no obvious change on the cross section.(2) The results of IR spectra showed that both sericin fixation color silk and none sericin fixation color silk have, the similar characteristic absorption peak of amideⅠ, amideⅡ, amideⅢand amide V, but some of the characteristic peak of the wave number shift occurred, indicating that the molecular structure of silk may underwent a certain degree of change after sericin fixation. Besides, the aggregation structure analysis shows that the silk molecular structure has happened the composition of no rules andβ-sheet after sericin fixation. But it is not clear which composition produced more, thus further study is needed.(3) The results of mechanical properties of the yarn show that the average breaking strength, the average elongation at break, and the average tensile strength are increased slightly after sericin fixation.(4) The examination of the stability of sericin after fixation shows that sericin is not easy to dissolve in acidic, neutral salt, and weak alkaline solution. But most sericin dissolution happened significantly in stronger alkaline of sodium bicarbonate solutions and the alkali of sodium hydroxide solutions, especially in the high temperature (90℃), and both sericin and silk fibroin of sericin fixation color silk are most seriously damaged in the sodium bicarbonate solutions.(5) The results of resistance to washing test shows that sericin fixation color silk has bad washing resistance with washing powder, but it has well washing resistance with soap and neutral detergent.(6) This thesis also concerns the detection of the sericin fixation fastness. The results show that the original methods are not suitable for detection fastness of sericin fixation color silk. They need either too harsh condition or relatively mild. According to the existing methods, this thesis combined with the practicality and cost of operation requirements, re-adjusted the related processing parameters. And finally determined two method that were suitable for detection fastness of sericin fixation color silk by the principle of orthogonal design method. It was called Soda ash method and Soap soda ash method respectively. The condition for the implementation of Soda ash method is that the amount of soda ash is 2g/L, the treatment temperature is 70℃, and the treatment time is 60mins. And the condition for the implementation of Soap soda ash method is that the amount of soap is 6g/L, the amount of soda ash is 1g/L, the treatment temperature is 70℃, and the treatment time is 50mins.
