Polymer-metal Complexs(PMCs) are attracting significant interest as these materials may combine the unique optoelectronic properties of metal complexes with the processability and mechanical properties of polymers.Organic or inorganic polymers combined with metal salts, metal complexes, metal chelates, metal clusters have potential development of materials science. There are good application prospects of new functional materials such as selective catalysis, molecular recognition, bio-conductive materials, molecular devices.Non-linear optical(NLO) device can be used in much high-tech fields, such as optical communications, optoelectronics, optical protection, optical information processing, dynamic image processing, optical implementation of computer technologies.NOL compounds include semiconductors, conjugated polymers, organic molecules and inorganic metal clusters. Now the challenge is how to prepare a film with the good third-order nonlinear optical. The main research results are described as follows:1.Prepare end-functionalized polymers. Two RAFT reagents and eight end-functionalized polymers were synthesized. The polymer-metal complexes are obtained by reaction of the polymers and the cluster[Bu4N]2[MoOS3Cu3I3]or Zinc phthalocyanine.Their third-order nonlinear optical properties were studied. To compare with that of the raw materials. The NOL property of the PMCs are enhanced greatly. At the same time, the polymers of different groups show different influence in NOL property.2.The film of the PMCs are also prepared and characterized.3.In order to extend to research of novel NOL complexes, four novel multinuclear metal complexes were obtained by Cu(Ⅱ) and o-bpta ligands.[Cu2(o-bpta)2 (NO3)2]·2H2O,[Cu2(o-bpta)2(ClO4)2]·CH3OH,[Cu4(o-bpta)2(SO4)3]·10H2O,[Cu4(o-bpta)2(SO4)2(SCN)2]·4H2O.Their structures are characterized by single crystal x-ray diffraction.Their structures are similar, with a closed multinuclear coppering. They are hard to resolve in the solvent,so we can't test its performance.
