The studying period on clay stabilizers can be divided into three stages that from the 50s to the late 60s the inorganic salts are mainly used to stabilize clay,in the 70s are inorganic multinuclear polymers and cationic surfactants ,and after the 80s the studying and experiments on cationic organic polymers stabilizing clay are mainly carried out. The actions of clay stabilizer protecting oil bearing formation are preventing clay mineral from hydrating swelling and scattering migration which will block flowing porous canal,lead to permeability declining and influence the effectiveness of oilfield exploitation.In this article two main types of chain-type cationic polymer clay stabilizer was synthesized with epoxy chloropropane as raw material:①.PA1 was synthesized through polycondensation with epoxy chloropropane and dimethylamine as raw materials;②.In the case of potassium persulfate-sodium sulfite,PA2 was synthesized through polycondensation and free radical reactions.By laboratory experiments the optimum polymerization reaction time,temperature,amount of initiator and monomer molar ratio in the synthesis of PA1 and PA2 clay stabilizer have been identified.Gemini surfactants are made up of two amphiphillic moieties connecting at the level of the headgroups by chemical bonds. Because of its especial structure and characteristic,Gemini surfactant is a researching emphasis in the field of surfactant. At the same time a gemini quaternary ammonium salt with epoxy chloropropane and triethylamine as the raw material was synthesized as clay stabilizer ln this article.The target compound was characterized by IR and elemental analysis.The surfactivity of the new gemini surfactant was investigated by mensurating conductance and surface tension.The clay stabilizer laboratory performance evaluation experiments indicate that the target compounds have favorable ability of prohibiting clay hydrating swelling and is an ideal long-effective clay stabilizer.Five conclusions are acquired On the basis of application of synthesizing technological studying of clay stabilizers:1,The cationic clay stabilizer PA1 is made from epoxy chloropropane and dimethylamine. Its optimum reaction time is 5h,temperture is 60℃and molar ratio of unit volume is 1:1.2,The cationic clay stabilizer PA2 is made from epoxy chloropropane and dimethylamine. Its optimum reaction time is 5h,temperture is 65℃,amount of initiator is 1.2% and molar ratio of unit volume is 1.5:1.3,The gemini quaternary ammonium salt is made from epoxy chloropropane and triethylamine. Its optimum reaction time is 7h,temperture is 70℃and molar ratio of unit volume is 2:1.The surfactivity of the new gemini surfactant was investigated by mensurating conductance and surface tension,the CMC is 4.5mmol/L and 4.8mmol/L,it has the good surface activity.4,According to the clay stabilizer antiswelling experimental results,the best concentration of using PA1 and PA2 is 0.5%, the best concentration of using the gemini quaternary ammonium salt is 0.8%.5,On the best concentration of using the clay stabilizer,the PA1 and PA2 are better than the gemini quaternary ammonium salt in the experimentation of the recovery ratio of debris,expansion ratio of clay and corrosion ratio of core., but worse than it in the harm ratio to core permeability experimentation. The harm ratio to core permeability of the gemini quaternary ammonium salt is 10%.
