[Background] The aroma components in cigarette mainstream smoke are important elements in the flavor of tobacco product and they affect the taking and sensory quality of the cigarette directly. With the developing technology of reducing tar content in cigarettes,there is a pressing need to make up the reducing spice .And the full understaning of the aroma components in the mainstream smoke is an important prerequisite for spicing. So it is one of the most important topic in tobacco science that seeking a more stable and reliable approach to analysis the composition and quality of tobacoo aroma.[objects] Optimize the experimental conditions of simultaneous distillation extracion , water steam distillation and GC/MS,establishing a more stable approach; Evaluate these two methods from different angles,in order to find a more objective and comprehensive method for extracting aroma components; Preliminary study the acidic,neutral and basic aroma components in tobacco smoke;Detecte the aroma components in different brands cigarette which from different areas to find the relations between the aroma compnents in mainstream smoke and the cigarette's types and quality.[Methods] In the extraction process,optimized experimental conditions of the simultaneous distillation extracion,water steam distillation and GC/MS by setting different parameters; Compared and analyzed SDE and WSD in their extraction process, repeatability, recovery, qualitative and approximately quantitative results;Qualitative and quantitative analysis of aroma components in mainstream smoke of 9 brands cigarette by SDE and GC/MS.[conclusions]1.The best extration conditions of SDE and WSD were:the consumption of the cigarette was 20,extraction time was 2.0 h,extraction solvent was CH2Cl2,Water temperature was 60℃;distillate of WSD was 170 mL.2.The best conditions for separation were:the extraction number of HCl and NaOH were 3;pH for separating acidic components was (l±0.01),pH for separating basic components was (13±0.01);the consumption of the Na2SO4 was 10 g.3.The RSD of the SDE was between 2.36%~10.61%,and the rerecoveries ranged from 72.07% to 94.35%,extracted 116 kinds of aroma components;The RSD of the WSD was between 3.97%~14.27%,and the rerecoveries ranged from 63.60% to 82.50%,extracted 51 kinds of aroma components;Data showed that SDE was more suitable for extracting the aroma components in the mainstream smoke.4.The testing results of 60 main aroma components in 9 brands cigarette showed that the difference of the raw material and process technology in cigarette production could lead the same components in different brands had significant differences incontent.
