The machine is machine tools in the equipment manufacturing, and the modernization of equipment manufacturing lies on the development level of machine so, developing equipment manufacturing must develop machine industry especially CNC machine made in our country. The financial crisis triggered by subprime mortgage crisis is worse and worse, which gives a great impact to entity economic. Facing the crisis, our government invests 4 trillion to expand domestic demands for ensuring economic growth, which brings god-given chance for equipment manufacturing. The chief of SMTCL grasp the chance and carries on major technical problem-solving project of Shenyang in 2008, that is, the development and design of vertical CNC lathe with double turrets of VTC10080d of 1000mm.The machine is mainly used for machining the bearing for wind-driven generator. The development and using of wind energy source gets more recognition because of the factors such as the wind power resource abounding in my country, clean energy sources being promoted using by our government and the stress from environment. Generating electricity by wind power is being generalized and used as pollution-free energy source, so the need of the bearing used for wind power generating electricity will be more and more.Basing on the original mature production, the lathe has employed double columns and double turrets and has been equipped with 8-station horizontal turret for meeting the need of full depth, rapid feed and heavy cutting, which can improve machining efficiency. The lathe has adopted double main motors structure, and the two motor run in same direction at the same time during turning to improve strong power for spindle for ensuring the max torque output of spindle during heavy turning. The technical difficulty during design and settling methods are introduced in the article. The machine adopts double main motors driving to realize the structure of main drive system with large power and large torque. The lathe adopts the design structure of spindle endface bearing to ensure the spindle rigidity in the case of full depth and rapid feed. Double apron combined type chip conveyor of the machine has settled the matter of chipping non-free for curled iron chips. The dummy models of the parts of VTC10080d vertical lathe with double turrets are done according to dummy modeling theory on the computer and, dummy assembling emulation and dummy model of overall machine are also realized. Comparing with traditional two-dimension design method, three-dimension design processes prodigious advantage. In the case of dummy environment of computer, building parts dummy model according to real size of the machine, at the same time, completing interference measuring of the machine, and the existent matter about the design can be found ahead during design course, the rationality of machine design scheme can be evaluated, and the machine function can be forecast. Three-dimension dummy design can greatly shorten development cycle of the machine, reduce design invest and reduce cost.The following matters are found during assembling the first machine. The matter of no easy to assembling for spindle bearing interference, can be settled through heat assembling mode, and adopting hydraulic made during adjusting pre-tightening, expanding inner ring of bearings in order to the pre-tightening debugging of spindle. Left column and right column need disassembling for several times and scraping surface to meet accuracy requirement during adjusting accuracy, and the operation is complex, so passing repeated studying, we decided to add adjusting pads for easy to adjusting accuracy. The reason of oil return non-free of spindle bearing lubrication is that lubrication viscosity added from being heated, and the lubrication only can flow through altitude difference, and at the same time, the outlet NPT1/4 is smaller, and the oil feed and return cannot keep balance and leaking oil occurs. Adding another more two outlet NPT1/4 and joining a self-made four-way pipe coupling to lead oil to oil tank settle the matter of oil return.The checking of the machine indicates that the technical parameter of trial-produced machine can meet the design requirement and the accuracy of the machine can meet the requirement of Test Certification and the requirement of parameter, and the model machine has been successful, so the machine can be manufactured in large batch.The project, the Development of Vertical Double Turrets CNC Lathe of 1000mm, obtains Technical Problem-Solving Prize in 2008.The trial-produce success of the machine fills up the blank of vertical double-turret CNC lathe of 1000mm, and provides more selection in speciation and machining forms for customers. The machine is close to the market need, and if the machine is sold in 2.4 million a set and is manufactured 15 sets a year, the economic returns of the machine can get 36 million RMB. There are a lot of the manufacturers applying themselves to manufacture the bearing for wind-power generator, so the machine possesses wide market foreground.Considering power reserve during designing the machine, the machine is not only used for machining bearing but also machining train wheel in the case of being equipped with vertical 4-station turret. The wastage of the tractions wheels becomes more and more because the speed of train is enhanced for several times, which makes the demand of the machine more and more. The type machine connects with the state investment project of top grade CNC machine for drawing domestic demands, and combines with the measure of developing CNC machine from our government to improve practical results and adapt the demand of state developing.
