China is a developing country with an abundance of people. With the rapiddevelopment of economy, the problem of resources and ecological environment isbecoming more and more serious and becoming an obstacle of our modemization, sohow to make effective and scientific monitoring and evaluation to the regionresources and ecological environment is turning into one of the subjects which needssolving urgently. With the development of the satellite remote sensing and theenhancement of the consciousness of eco-environment protecting, people realize thenecessaries and urgency of the application of satellite remote sensing in EcologicalEnvironment monitoring. The dissertation is based on the project of the ecologicenvironmental dynamic monitoring of Sichuan Province by remote sensingtechnique which was finished by Institute of Remote Sensing&GIS, ChengduUniversity of Technology. In this paper, taking Leshan city Sichuan province asstudy area and Landsat5 TM Images as the main information resource. on the base ofremote sensing software ERDAS IMAGE and GIS software ARCGIS the remoteimages are corrected by the unitary radiation correction, between two imagesattained in different time author do radiance matching to make the digital number ofpixels in two images attained in different time comparability. in remote imageclassifying, author extract the information of water area and land for constructionthrough TM1,4,5 bands combination images and information of forest, grasslands,tilth and bare land through TM4,3,2 bands combination images. for some specialremote images, in which within a frame or within a county there are much differencein terrain and physiognomy and much comparability in hue, shape, area and texturebut the land-use type are different, author put forward the region disposition andclassification, firstly cut the image into several pieces of images by the terrain andphysiognomy borderlines, and then respectively classify these images, finally put together the vector data obtained from classification. in extraction of changes author adopted the combine of three change detecting ways of NDVI difference value,PCA and the spectral character differentiation to do dynamic monitoring on land use change between 2000 and 2006 in Leshan. then the change of land-use between 2000 and 2006 in Leshan is detected and established the dynamic combination current database from 2000 to 2006 of all counties. At the same time, land use dynamic degree and land use transfer matrix are introduced to do some analysis through the strong spatial analysis ability of ArcGIS software.Analysis results indicates that area of two land-use types of six have decreased, area of three land-use types have increased between 2000 and 2006 .but bare area almost have no change .in the land-use types whose area fall down, tilth area cuts down most, amounts to 284 km ,decreased by 2.2 percent. Secondly, the grasslands area has decreased by 45 km~2 , it's almost 0.4 percent. in the land-use types whose area increase, the Forest land lead first, had net increase of 306 km~2 , increased by 2.4 percent .in the next place, The area of Land for construction increased 16 km~2, increased by 0.13 percent. in this changes of area of land-use type, large amount of dry land changed into forest land and the grasslands, whose area amount to 259 km~2 and 4.5 km~2,take 91 percent and 1.6 percent of the decrease of tilth. Meanwhile, a mass of grasslands turned into The forest, whose area is up to 54 km~2,it show a great deal steeper dry land have changed into the forest and grasslands, the project for recovering the forests and grasslands has made greater achievements.At the same time, there is plentiful tilth and sparse woodland turned into land for construction, whose area amount to 16 km~2and 0.3 km~2 respectively, it take 2.4percent of all changes in leshan. this indicate the economy develop fast, the town expand rapidly, however it made tilth reduce greatly. therefore, with the development of economy, we are faced with a arduous task of realizing the durative development of economy,protecting tilth .
