The production process of bamboo-charcoal modified polyester ( BCMP ) can simply be shown as follows:Firstly, old bamboos, more than 4 years old, are made into bamboo-charcoals by means of a pre-dry technology at a temperature of 60-100°C, dry technology at 100-150°C, pre-coking technology at 150-270°C,coking technology at 270-450°C, and calcinated technology at 450-1000°C. Next, bamboo- charcoals are ground into powders, whose diameters are below 0.5μm. The powders are then processed and modified by silicon surface active agents. Then modified powders and polyester chips are mixed together and processed into colorants at 450°C. Finally, polyester chips are mixed with the colorants again at a certain temperature and BCMP are achieved with the help of normal polyester spinning technology.In this thesis, properties and healthy functions of BCMP are researched; different blended and interlaced knitted fabrics are developed and comfortable properties and healthy functions of them are tested and evaluated.Through the study of the properties, the following results are revealed: because of the powders of bamboo-charcoals exist, the fibers' stresses are uneven, mechanical properties and appearance index of the fibers are changed to different extent. Meanwhile the fiber moisture absorption is better than general polyester fibers, specific volume resistance is distinctly smaller, static effects reduce, wearing behaviors get better, and it is convenient for people to process the fibers and use the fiber textiles.Through the study of the healthy functions, the following results are revealed: because of the metal elements and carburets in BCMP, the fabrics have good far-infrared and negative ion emission functions; UV prevention function results mainly from the carbon elements; the absorbability and anti-bacterial functions lie in their porous structures.Through the evaluation of the comfort property, it is seen that in the same condition, wet permeability and warmth-retention functions of BCMP are much better than general polyester, and vapor transmission function is not remarkably different from general polyester. Based on the theory of wicking effect and differential capillary effect, the blended and interlaced fabrics with healthy and high wet permeability functions are designed and good comfort and healthy functions can be obtained.By the tests of wet permeability and vapor transmission properties of four fabrics with health and high wet permeability functions, fuzzy mathematics method is used to evaluate the whole properties. The results show: the fabric composed of pure synthetic fibers has the best wet permeability and fast dry property, because moisture doesn't get into the fiber, only transmit on the surface of the fibers, the wetting area and dry speed are both high; the fabric composed of cotton and bamboo-charcoal fiber has the worst wet permeability and fast dry property, because moisture gets into the fiber, wicking speed and wetting area are smallest, the rate of containing moisture is highest and dry speed is slow.By the tests of warm-retention, wet permeability and vapor transmission properties of four fabrics with health and leisure functions, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used in order to compare and analyze the whole properties of the fabrics, the results show as follows: the rib fabric composed of wool and BCMP has the best comprehensive property, because of it's high warm-retention and vapor transmission, although wet permeability is not very good, the fabric composed of pure bamboo-charcoal polyester fibers has the worst comprehensive property, because of it's low warm-retention and bad vapor transmission function.Through the study on healthy functions of different blended and interlaced fabrics, it is revealed that when the content of bamboo-charcoal polyester is about 30% in them, the fabrics' health functions are almost as good as that of 100% BCMP fabrics. In such a way, it is helpful to the color range of dyed fabrics, fabrics' cost reduction and improvement of fabrics' touch comfort properties.Through the tests of stiffness, softness, pilling property, bursting performance, wrinkle recovery, tensile elastic property and drape coefficient of the fabrics, the grey correlation analysis method are used to deal with the experimentation data of the fabrics' tests and the whole enduring functions were comprehensively evaluated.So as to the health, wet permeability and fast drying fabrics, it is revealed that the comprehensive enduring property of a fabric composed of two thick composite filaments is good because of good anti-pilling, wrinkle recovery and elastic recovery percentage, although bursting strength is not very high.So as to the healthy leisure fabrics, it is revealed that the comprehensive enduring functions of a fabric composed of bamboo-charcoal polyester filament and spandex is good because of good flexibility and anti-pilling property, although its wrinkle recovery is not very satisfied.
