The pumping unit transmits power to the pump using sucker rod. The relative motion between sucker rod and tubing causes eccentric wear. This effect not only knocks down strength of pumping rod but also rubs through oil tube wall, leading to the oil well unable to work and economic loss of the oil field. The eccentric wear of some oil field and the cause of eccentric wear have been investigated in the article, the environment, the condition of shift under loads, and the structure of well path are the mainly reasons. By the mechanics analysis of pumping rod, the calculation model of the mechanics analysis of pumping rod and neutrality point of oil tube have been established. The function of pumping rod bend space length and account method have been derived and analysis example have been completed. The simulation of wellbore trajectory and the deformation curve of sucker rod and oil tube is also given. New methods and new equipments for prevention and cure of eccentric wear are also given by this paper. Some advice has been given to prevent the eccentric wear of pumping rod.
