Coordination complex based on imidazole and its derivatives has great potentialapplication prospect in medicine, pesticide, accelerant, functional material, surfaceactive agents, analytical chemistry reagent and organic synthesis, therefore has been anactive area in coordination chemistry due to its outstanding biological and reactiveactivity, and unique optical and magnetic performance. Herein, using hydrothermaland solvothermal syntheses methods, we report the crystal structure andelectrochemical/thermal properties of seventeen coordination complexes, sixteen ofwhich are based on imidazole and its derivatives.Research background and scientific significance of the task is presented. Moreover,we introduced the synthesis methods of imidazole and its derivatives, as well as thesynthesis and applications of coordination complexes. Finally, the research goal andresults are demonstrated in this dissertation.Heteronulear coordination polymer [Ni(Im)3Hg(SCN)4] is designed and synthesizedby the reaction of Hg(SCN)42 anion and Ni(Im)62+, and proper characterization of ESR,thermal property and ultraviolet-visible spectrum of the complex is also investigated.Two coordination polymers and three mononuclear coordination complexes havebeen synthesized from SCN- and transition metals with the presence of neutral ligandN-Methylimidazole, of which the interaction of the Ni2+ complex to native fish spermDNA is investigated through electrochemistry, electric absorption spectroscopy and viscosity experiments.The coordination complex [Cd(N-EIm)3Cl2] is formed through reaction betweenN-Ethylimidazole and metal atom; One coordination polymer and four mononuclearcoordination complexes have been synthesized from SCN- and transition metals withthe presence of neutral ligand N-Ethylimidazole, the crystal structure andelectrochemical/thermal properties of which are also presented.One coordination polymer and three mononuclear coordination complexes havebeen synthesized from SCN- and transition metals with the presence of neutral ligandN-Vinylimidazole, the crystal structure and electrochemical/thermal properties ofwhich are also presented.The coordination complex [Cu(Phen)·2H2O](PA)·3H2O is designed and formedfrom Phenylacetic acid and transition metal with the presence of neutral ligandPhenanthroline, the crystal structure and thermal properties of which are alsopresented.
