Analysis On The PAHs And Their Sources In Respirable Particulate Matter(PM₁₀) Of Nanchang City

Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons(PAHs) is one important kind of air pollutants.PAHs in the ambient atmosphere is a large family and some members of them arecarcinogenic. Most of them are transmintting, shifting, and settling on atmosphericsuspended particulates. The PAHs pollution in atmospheric suspended particulatesemPAHsized threat on the whole human. And the understanding of occurrence andsources for PAHs in environment is the basis of controlling POPs pollution efficiently,thus reducing personal intake and protecting human health. So it is very importantthat PAHs and their sources are studied.Five sampling areas were set in Nanchang city and collected 80 samples ofRespirable Particulates Matter(PM₁₀) in ambient air. In the paper, PAHs on RespirableParticulates Matter(PM₁₀) are extracted by ultrasonic, separated by High PerformanceLipuid Chromatography(HPLC) and analyzed by Photodiode Array Detector andMultiλFluorescence Detector(PDA/FLD). The resolution and recovery rates ofPAHs are good, and the precision, accuracy and sensitivity of the analytical techniqueare satisfying.Based on the determined data at various sampling areas, the PAHs in RespirableParticulates Matter(PM₁₀) of The Luojiaji area are mainly orgirinated by the cokedemissions source and the burning down source emissions;that of The Rongchang areaare produced by high temperature buming(cooking,heating),the civil coal-burning andthe motor vehicle emissions source; that of The 8.1 square are discharged by thediesel oil vehicles,the coal-burning and high temperarure burning(cooking,heating)discharges;that of old area of The Nanchang number 2 middle school are originatedby the light oil vehicles,the coal-burning and the heavy oil burning emissiongs source;the main pollution sources of The Xialuo villagers residential district are lumberburning and the vehicles emissions source;The Nanchang urban district mainpollution originates for the motor vehicle emissions source,the coal-burning emissionsource,the firewood buming emissions source and the unknown source.
