Bis-Schiff bases have been of great interest for many years because of their ease of preparation and their versatile bonding modes, as well as their synthetic applications and multidentate ligands. These compounds are characterized by-N=CH-(imine), a number of Schiff bases derived from various heterocycles have been tested for antibacterial, anticonvulsant, antiproliferative, herbicidal, anticancer and antifungal activities. Furthermore, Schiff bases are utilized as intermediates in the organic synthesis. We can synthesize various compounds derived from schiff bases, such asβ-lactams, 1, 2, 4-oxadiazolines, thiazolidinones. In addition, heterocycles containing 1, 2, 3-triazol, quinoxaline and pyrazolline are associated with a particularly strong biological property. We introduced the group 1, 2, 3-triazol or quinoxaline into 1, 2, 4-oxadiazoline, thiazolidinone and pyrazolline ring respectively, and provided a lot of leading compounds for medicines selecting. This thesis includes two major parts:The first part is about literature. The progress in appli.cation and synthesis of imine and the progress on 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition re.action in organic synthesis were explicated systematically and briefly elucidated 1,2,4-oxadiazoline, thiazolidinone and pyrazolline derivatives. The second part is about experimental part. Major work as follows:1. Three heterocyclic aldehydes reacted with diamine to give bis-Schiff bases2. Several new bis-Schiff bases reacted withα-chloro-oximes in triethylamine to give a series of 1, 2, 4-oxadiazoline derivativesl.3. New bis-schiff bases reacted with mercaptoacetic acid to give thiazolidinone derivatives.4. Chalcones were synthesized by aldol condensation reaction of para-substituted acetophenones (or acetophenones) with 2-(4-bromophenyl)-1, 2, 3-triazol-4-carbaldehyde, which reacted with hydrazine or phenylhydrazine in glacial acetic to give a series of pyrazoline derivatives. The structure of all these new compounds that were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, ~1H NMR, MS, X-ary spectral data.
