Making coating fabrics be multifunctional is one of the most popular trends. At present, it iscommon to endow fabrics with single function such as water resistance, moisture permeability,anti-ultraviolet and so on, but fewer researches are done to make coating fabrics have multifunctionssimutaneously.This thesis uses aqueous polyurethane (PU) as coatimg reagents, which will not form micropores;its moisture permeability will be improved by wool keratin solution, and it will get the property ofanti-ultraviolet by nanometer powders, so one coating fabric with multifunctions such as waterresistance, moisture permeability and anti-ultraviolet were obtainedFirst, reducing method and alkaline method were combined together to make the solution ofwool keratin, and four different types of dry-method films were made: pure aqueous PU films; mixedfilms of PU and wool keratin solution; mixed films of PU and anti-ultraviolet nanometer powders;mixed films of PU, wool keratin solution and anti-ultraviolet nanometer powders. The morphologicalstructures of these films were observed by scanning electron microscope, the surface of last filmappears microspores that distributed evenly. The compositions of them were tested by infraredspectrum method; it is proved that the solution of wool keratin in PU is mixed physically.Secondly, weave fabrics made of polyamide and polyester were used to be the base cloth, PUwas coated directly on them with different add-ons by dry method, and some properties related thismethod were tested, such as moisture permeability, water resistance, tenacity, abrasion resistance. Theresults were analyzed by mathematical statistics(multi-objective ambiguous decision method), theoptimum add-on of coating fabric was 20%~30%. Wool keratin solution of different proportions wasadded into PU solution with no change of add-on to make coating fabrics. The results show thatmoisture permeability and tearing strength of these coating fabrics have been increased, but waterresistance, breaking tenacity and abrasion resistance tend to be decreased. The optimum scheme wasgot by the same statistical method.Thirdly, nanometer powders with anti-ultraviolet property were added into the coating reagentsto get multifunctional coating fabrics, and the principle of multifunction was analyzed. The property ofanti-ultraviolet of coating fabrics was improved a lot by adding nanometer powders, the otherproperties were almost not be influenced.At last, we summarized the methods of making wool keratin solution and multifunctionalcoating fabrics. Some further researches should be done in this field.
