Volatility organic compounds ( VOCs ) is a type of pollutant which is very widespread and endanger to the human body. It contains complicated compositions,various in category, the basis of which are hydrocarbon , oxygen hydrocarbon, halogen hydrocarbon,nitrogen fluorin hydrocarbon,sulfur hydrocarbon and so on. Most of them have characteristics as follows: long-term low release,harmful to human body and difficult to disposal or treatment etc. Human beings are seeking a better technology a new better technique to resolve the problem of air pollution of VOCs in recent times. Adsorption and press swing adsorption method using for air separation and purifying has some nice characteristics,for example,highly efficiency,simpleness equipment,operation convenience and could treat the diluent injurant,that it perfectly suit for VOCs treatment. Adsorption laws for organic gas on the solid surface has become one of hotspots of research on the chemical technology and environmental protection.This paper discussed adsorption and PSA methods for VOCs treatment on environmental engineering,both on theory and practice. Base on the absorption theory of absorption balancement and absorption kinetic analysis,this paper try to explain the modeling of adsorption of dichloromethane with fixed bed filled with GAC. The simulation results of fixed bed adsorption can be used for penetrating breakthrough curve. The simulation result is evaluated with the experiments data. The influence of absorption efficiency with operation condition such as gas velocity , inlet concentration,bed height and so on had been discussed by simulating results. The simulation of penetrate curve can be provided for engineering design and practice and technology control parameters of adsorption of low concentration VOCs.PSA is a new field of treating VOCs with a ensure future. The simulation research of purifying and reclaiming of VOCs compound by PSA have been rose resently,however,there is no much development in China. Single component is researched mostly,but compound VOCs will be treated in practice application. Infrequent calculation results of theory simulation need more support from experimental data also. The influence factors which in the PSA separation to reclaim materials from the mix gases of toluene and dimethylbenzene from exhaust gas are discussed in this paper. Base on Orthogonal experiments,best technology conditions and optimizing parameter were gained The results showed the efficiency of treating the mix gas was stable above 95% when the concentration mixture of toluene and dimethylbenzene within some range,so this method is suitable be used to separation,reclaimant , purifition for VOCs. The results have some applicabilities to the adsorption processes of VOCs , meanwhile the results provide the support of technology and theory for the further steps.
