Carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers were found fifteen years ago. They have high tensile strength, high chemic stability, high thermal and electrical conductivity, in addition to excellent field emission property. Therefore their practical application attracted many researches. For example, as reinforcements, they can improve various properties of composite material. In this research, these composite materials were used as electric contact material.To make carbon nantubes and carbon nanofibers enhance the metal matrix, there are still two problems which the researchers must solve: (1) carbon nantubes and carbon nanofibers must be dispersed uniformly in the metal matrix; (2) carbon nantubes and carbon nanofibers must be combined very well in the metal matrix. In this research, to prepare the carbon nantube and carbon nanofiber Cu/Ag composite films with the reinforcements dispersed uniformly and combined well in the matrix, a series optimized experiments had been done, including plating bath, current density and agitation method.
