With the development of national economy and the course of urbanization, the quantity of medical waste in our country are increasing with the generation rate of three to six percent annually. The harmless treatment of medical waste arrests peopleËŠs attention much more because of the characteristics of its airborne infection,acute infection,latent infection and so forth. Owing to the shortage of energy and resource all over the world and the emergence of different utilization of municipal waste recent year, the principle of hazard-free,reducing quantity,and reclamation in the deposition of medical waste is becoming a trend.This article does some brief summarization about medical waste in prolegomenon. It contains the definition to medical waste at home and abroad,the current situation of production and the method of estimation, the composition and characteristics of medical waste. At the same time, many countries'law and criterion are briefly introduced too. What's more, the harm of medical waste is described. The technology of handling and disposal as well as the developing process of incinerator and the domestic and foreign conditions of treatment is analyzed chiefly.This article also introduces the technics of pyrolysis and conventional pyrolyzer briefly. It not only describes reaction equation of waste in pyrolysis process, But also analyzes the thermal degradation of polymer, especially the pyrolytic process and the pyrolytic mechanism and initiation structure of poly (vinyl chloride) .The harm of dioxins is introduced, and furthermore, the formation and controls of dioxins in the process of wasteËŠs thermal treatment are analyzed. How the pyrolysis and gasification can inhibit the synthesis of dioxins is also recounted in detail. According to the test result of pyrolysis experiment about medical waste which contains infusion bag, the article discusses the main component of infusion bag, and moreover, it analyzes the mechanism that most element of chlorine in the infusion bag can be kept back in solid by some accessory ingredients, especial plasticizer and heat stabilizer, when the pyrolysis is end. At the same time, the article points out that it is significant to control dioxins and reduce the harm of hydrogen chloride, if the element of chlorine in plastic is held up in solid-state product through pyrolysis.The chief part of this article is to design and manufacture the furnace of pyrolysis and gasification for treatment of medical waste.
