Studies on coal water slurry (CWS) have been conducted for many years to replace the fuel oil since 1980s. Ordinary CWS has been used to replace the combustion of heavy oil and residual oil in the boiler. And, the ultra-clean micro sized coal water slurry has a larger range of replacing fuel oil and less pollution on the environment than the ordinary coal water slurry. So the research on ultra-clean micro sized CWS is of real importance.In this article firstly the particle pore structure of ultra-clean micro sized CWS has been researched. The mechanism of factors affect slurry-forming ability also has been researched. Adopting the low temperature pyrolysis treatment and mixture of different coals to improve the slurry-forming ability of Shenhua coal. By using the method of the thermal analysis, the combustion characteristic and the reaction kinetics conditions have obtained. Mainly includes following contents:1st. The particle diameter and distribution, the pore structure of coal particle which is used for the preparation of ultra-clean micro sized CWS has been studied, and using fractal dimension to descript the structure of CWS's surface characteristics. The relationship between the pore structure and the particle diameter has been studied.2nd. Mineral and particle distribution have been discussed on effect of slurry-forming ability. The experiment on different Shenhua coals have been conducted, then methods, which conclude low temperature pyrolysis treatment, microwave radiation treatment and the mixture of different coals, with intention to improve the slurry-forming ability was carried out. The factors including the surface area, pore structure, particle distribution, and the fractal dimension that affect the slurry-forming ability have been investigated.3rd. Studied the factor that affect the ultra-clean micro sized CWS combustion characteristic and corresponding reaction energy using the thermal analysis, and analysis the particle size, elevation of temperature speed, pore structure and the pore surface fractal dimension.
