With the development of urbanization,problems respecting air pollution in cities have been more serious, the researches of the urban outdoor air environment have become increasingly a cause for concern.This research of the outdoor air environment in mountainous city directed at the thorough study in complex landform, because of the lake of data at this aspect. This paper studied the outdoor thermal environment in mountainous city mostly and added the analyses of the air quality to be the necessary complementarities. It emphasized particularly on the experiments, tried to quantify the factors, discussed the characteristic of the outdoor air environment in mountainous city and evaluated the thermal environment and air quality. Several issues were studied in this paper:Firstly, the author found the relatively mature comprehensive evaluation model which was acceptable for the complex mountain by analyzing the turbulent model, urban outdoor thermal comfort model, urban outdoor thermal environment prediction and evaluation model and atmosphere quality model. The RBLM and the CBLM models were the representative models.Secondly, the author made the experiments according to the order of single building, estate, major region, based on the model analyses. The thermal environment test of the main teaching building in campus A of Chongqing University and the ambience in spring and summer mostly analyzed the effect of the tall building on the temperature field and wind field of the surrounding environment. The thermal environment test of campus A of Chongqing University in winter and summer analyzed the characteristic of the thermal environment along the time and space in the estate, the effect of hypsographic feature and architectural composition on the temperature field and wind field, the effect of different types of underlying surface on the temperature field, the characteristic of the airflow in the estate and the outdoor thermal comfort in summer. The part could provide reference for the analyse of major region test. The author set the temperature-humidity automatically recording sensors at Shapingba, Yuzhong, Jiulongpo area of Chongqing to make almost one year data collection. The three places represented the cultural area, commercial-living area and industrial area.
